RedMapper Planetary Atlas Collection
Exploring Worlds, One Map at a Time
Recent years have revealed an upward trend in volume, variety, and velocity of information coming from space, but where does that data end up and how can we use it to inspire everyday people? Our newly launched Kickstarter Campaign seeks to drive an increase in space exploration enthusiasm with the Planetary Atlas Collection of Earth’s Moon, Mercury, and Mars.
The newly launched campaign is focused on providing expert access to planetary knowledge to everyday space enthusiasts. Each Atlas in the Collection provides a comprehensive catalog of topographic features, named places, and human activities using modern mapping technology with emerging data. The original Mars Atlas published in June of 2020, underwent a major update with a brilliant 232m resolution image overlay from the Mars Viking mission showing surface detail not available previously.
Kickstarter is a good fit for this campaign because it provides a platform to launch our vision into reality, and more importantly gives our team the opportunity to promote the relevance of space on Earth, its infinite potential, and that of our species.
This is space exploration for everyone.
Exploration doesn’t inherently belong to any particular group of people, agency, nation, or corporation. It belongs to everyone who has a passion for discovery. We hope with these new tools people around the world have a way to explore these new frontiers on their own.
The Campaign is a novel opportunity to join the mission that, Space exploration doesn’t inherently belong to any particular group, nation, corporation, or language. It belongs to everyone with a passion for learning and discovery. After what we hope is a successful campaign, the RedMapper Team will shift its focus to address equitable access to planetary knowledge, with the goal to translate the portals and future atlases into primary languages identified as Mandarin, Hindi, and Arabic - as just as a start.
Each reward level consists of materials that promote space exploration and make it possible for everyday space enthusiasts to explore the inner solar system on their own. Not everyone has to pledge to participate, the online portals can be accessed anonymously at no cost, with no commitments.
